Clean Air and Climate Change

As we work to address the climate crisis, the greatest threat of our lifetime, we are committed to protecting our air from pollution and preserving our climate for future generations.

Climate change is the single greatest issue of our lifetime and addressing the climate crisis is central to our mission at Michigan LCV Ed Fund. Working to protect air quality and address the climate crisis means advocating for clean energy solutions as we progress towards a carbon neutral economy.

Governor Whitmer’s decisive action in recent months has established concrete goals on carbon neutrality that Michigan will work toward in the coming years, but we are constantly working to make a difference and address the threat of climate change.

Being clean air champions also means advocating for Michigan’s communities that are disproportionately impacted by air pollution and poor air quality. The 48217 zip code in Southwest Detroit, Michigan’s most polluted zip code, is an example of how Black and Brown communities experience disproportionate impacts from corporate pollution and Michigan LCV is committed to advocating and fighting for these communities as we find equitable solutions for the climate crisis.

Nobody should have to worry about the quality of the air they breathe. Michigan LCV Ed Fund is committed to protecting Michigan’s air and fighting against pollution in our great lakes state.

Electric Vehicles

Despite Michigan’s proud history as the birthplace of the American automotive industry, we are behind on electric vehicle production and innovation. Michigan needs to be at the center of the upcoming electric vehicle revolution.
