Tequeria Barrett
Tequeria âTQâ Barrett is a Michigan Native who comes with a wealth of experience in issue-based campaigning, public policy, organizing and community outreach efforts centered around Voting Rights and Civil Rights Advocacy.
Since receiving her degree in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2017 Tequeria has been a long standing member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and fellow community organizer with the New Georgia Project and The Outreach Team, where her prior work has been spent serving in various leadership capacities to tackle racial, economical, social, political and environmental justice issues tied to equal and fair elections. It is through her efforts to mobilize young voters in Georgia, that led Tequeria to becoming the youngest elected to serve as the First Vice President of the NAACP Georgia State Conference in 2023, working to expand statewide ballot access for over 130 local districts during local, state and federal elections.
Since returning to her home-front in Detroit Michigan, Tequeria now serves as a Voting Rights Manager with the Michigan League of Conservation Voters Democracy for All team, where she continues to work to curate spaces for Detroit voters' voices to be heard in each and every election. In her spare time from working to protect Democracy, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
