Melissa Harris
Melissa is the Community Outreach and Support Coordinator at Michigan LCV. Through her role, Melissa works to support the efforts of the Great Lakes PFAS Action Network (GLPAN) alongside the Ecology Center and the National Wildlife Federation. Prior to her work at Michigan LCV, Melissa served as the Project Manager for the WLEB Farmer-led Conservation Group at the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts, supporting efforts to grow conservation practices in the area in order to reduce non-point source nutrient run-off into Lake Erie. Melissa also spent years working in public health at the University of Michigan’s Adolescent Health Initiative, supporting their programs and marketing efforts. Through her work in public health and environmental health, she brings an array of experiences to the team.
Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Sustainability from Michigan State University and her Master of Science in Ecosystem Science and Management from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Outside of her role, Melissa enjoys hiking, crafting, and caring for her house plant collection.
