Arye Shannon-Carmichael

Development Manager

Arye is the Development Manager at Michigan LCV. She provides leadership and oversight to all fundraising tracking systems and ensures fundraising efforts are strategic, tracked, reported, and celebrated while working closely with the Development Director to manage internal department operations. She also acts as the primary manager for all fundraising events and works closely with the Grants Manager to support grant submissions, tracking, and reporting.

Born and raised in West Michigan, Arye spent her summers at the beach, traveling to Michigan’s historical and picturesque destinations, and camping with her family. Arye’s parents, both educators, instilled a love of Michigan’s outdoors and a responsibility to protect the environment from a young age.

Arye graduated from Hope College with a bachelor’s degree in dance and elementary education and spent ten years teaching in the public and charter school systems. During her tenure in education, she has developed a multitude of transferable skills that will benefit MLCV in leading the charge for safe drinking water, fighting climate change, and ensuring voter access for all.

Arye lives in Grand Rapids with her husband. She enjoys hiking, craft beers, exploring national parks, and has an incurable case of wanderlust. You will also find her dancing and executing her duties as the Founder and Artistic Director of a contemporary dance company outside of work.
